Account Deletion Steps
We respect your right to delete your account and associated data. Follow these steps to request account deletion:
Through the App
- Log in to your EasyRide Africa account.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select About Me and choose Delete Account.
- Confirm your request by completing the form provided.
Through Customer Support
- Contact our customer support team at support@easyride.africa with the subject line: "Account Deletion Request."
- Provide the email address or phone number associated with your account for verification.
Expected Timeline: Account deletion requests are processed within 7 business days. You will receive an email confirmation once your request is completed.
Data Deletion and Retention Information
Types of Data Deleted
Upon account deletion, we will permanently delete the following data:
- Personal information (e.g., name, email, phone number).
- Activity logs (e.g., ride history, preferences).
- Any non-essential account-related data.
Data Retained
Certain types of data may be retained for legal or operational purposes:
- Financial Transactions: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial regulations.
- Fraud Prevention and Security Logs: Retained for 6 months to ensure system integrity.
Post-Deletion Retention Period
After your profile is deleted, we will retain your data for 60 days before permanently deleting it. This allows us to address any residual queries or legal obligations. After this period, all data will be securely and permanently removed.
Transparency
We retain this data to:
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Prevent fraudulent activity.
- Support dispute resolution if needed.
After the retention period, all retained data will be securely deleted.
